So here's a weird one. I plugged my iPhone 4 into iTunes and tried to copy a file to an app, only to be told that I didn't have enough space left on it. I looked at the memory bar thing in iTunes and it reported I had only 0.07GB of free memory

However, when I synced the iPhone, it suddenly recovered 5.5GB!

I'm just confused as to what was using up 5.5GB that iTunes wiped? Do Apple log files really get that big or was there just some error in how it was counting my memory usage?

Thanks!

when your iphone is synced to your computer, if you delete say a bunch of songs off of itunes, when the iphone is synced it will also remove those songs off of your iphone. Something of that nature must have occured. Movies, or podcasts, or apps.

I didn't delete anything, but I synced it again and the memory went back to being stupidly low, so I will be soon :p
