hey, on my old, antiquated, 1.14 edge iPhone, i would be able to listen to the iPod feature in the car via cassette adaptor, if someone called, i could just plug it, take the call, then plug back in without missing more than a beat or 2. However, on my new, updated 2.0 3g iphone, whenever I unplug it, it immediately hangs up on the caller. Is there some hidden option to turn this off? its pretty stinkin' annoying to have to call someone back EVERY single time it happens.

This happens to me too, the way i put the headphones in the first couple times i thought i was hitting the power sleep button at the same time which was why it was doing it but it wasnt, it is pretty annoying. Man 2.0.1 better have a lot of bug fixes

This has not happend to me. i was listening to music in the truck today and then my phone rings, and i answer it with it still plugged in, i had to hit speaker phone and then realized i could not hear her very well as my windows were down. So then i unplugged the iphone and talk on the phone itself. Now my question is how come the phone will not send signal to my stereo just like when i am listening to music and just let me talk that way. make sense?

This has happened to me too.
They need to fix that because it makes no sense.
People usually will have to unplug headphones to answer a call, so this is pretty stupid.
It may be a bug; I don't think this would be by design.

Same thing happens to my ipod nano: when the headphone jack comes out, music player stops. Could be a feature to save the battery life in case you pack-up the device without hitting stop. i agree though... it's counter-intuitive with the iphone.

stopping the music makes sense, but when you get a call, your music is paused anyway. this is more than annoying.
