Earlier tonight a friend and I were trying to look for a mixtape. Just to make it clear, it was a mixtape that was released for free. Anyways, we found a link that the artist had put out, but we wanted to see if we could find a version that was 320kbps. I loaded up Safari and did a Google search and clicked on a link that showed up and my phone rebooted. After it started back up one of those messages popped up asking me to login to my Apple account (you know the ones you get when you want to purchase something in iTunes).

Anyways, I hit cancel and checked a few settings and realized I was signed out of iMessages, but not Facebook.

Now, every time I turn my phone on and off the same thing happens.

Pardon my ignorance, but is there a way that the site I clicked was some shady site and it somehow infected my iPhone? I honestly just clicked a link that showed up in a Google search result and this happened.

I worried because I have all my passwords saved in 1Password.

I'm think I should do a complete restore and setup my phone again. I just really don't want to lose all my text messages and have to setup everything agian -- it's a real pain and I had to do it a few weeks ago...

I'd appreciate any assistance at all.

This is the first I have ever heard of something happening like this. I would boot into recovery mode and restore through ITUNES (not the setting menu in the phone) just to make sure that any remnants of whatever that website did gets off your phone. Good luck and keep us updated.

Very strange, never heard of this either. A restore should fix your problem, not sure if there's any other way around it.

Thanks guys.

I actually did a restore because I was feeling paranoid and now I'm in the process of changing all the passwords I had saved in 1Password and I'll spend the next few hours changing all the settings to my liking on my phone and downloading all my apps again.

Sucks... Thankfully I can't go to sleep, so this will give me something to do.

Thanks again.
