iphone having troubles with new ringtones

I made myself some new ringtones from aac files I already had and my iphone will recognize, assign, play them with no problems when I transfer any one of them to my phone. When I try and move more than one of the new ringtones, though, it will only recognize the first one as an individual ringtone. All the rest will just be duplicates of the first ringtone. So, for instance, if I have ringtones A, B, and C, when I transfer them either as a group or one at a time, my phone recognizes them as three copies of ringtone A rather than three seperate ringtones. The ringtones themselves work fine when it comes to playing them and assigning them to contacts. Any suggestions?
