My headphone jack for my bose headphones wont fit. It's a 3.5mm jack, but the plastic part at the top of the metal bit it too wide. This is the same for my car's auxiliary input, my hifi's auxiliary jack, my other headphones!!!

Seeing as the iphone is supposed to be an ipod aswell as a phone and breakthrough internet device, you would think they would allow other brands of headphone fit other than the rubbish headphones apple included in the box!

The thing is, the lead i use in my car is the apple AV cable, NOT EVEN THAT FITS!

I am not happy now. I love the iphone to bits, but this is ridiculous!

Hi there. This is a well documented shortcoming of the iPhone. My advice to you is to either buy an adapter. Or, do what i did and modify the plug of your headphones with a scalpel. This might sound a little drastic, but all you need to do is cut a ring around the bottom of the plug of about 2 millimeters in width. This was one of the first things I did once I had the phone all synced up. Worked like a charm.

Exactly what I did. Don't see why people would go and buy an adaptor.
