Iphone headset hack question...

I remember seeing a hack to the iPohne headset that replaced the crappy earbuds with some higher quality ones. I have a set of JBL earbuds that the cord has freyed and they cut in and out. I want to swap the buds onto the iPhone headset so I can keep the mic.

Can anyone help me find the info I need? I remember the write-up having a bunch of realy good pics and info. Thanks for any help!
