iPhone headset into 2011 15" MBP?

I want to use my iPhone style headset (Phones+Integrated Mic) as just headphones with the 2011 15" MBP. Can I just plug them into the headphone port? Or does the three black lines plug only work in a special head/mic integrated port?

In other words, will they work for just headphones even though they have a mic?

+1 no problem with my 2010 15" i5, works ok.

All of it will work fine, you can even use the remote to control iTunes.
