IPHONE HELP can i use my old sim card?

ok so i can get a iphone for in my price range but i dont want to have to get a new plan. i now have pay as you go i was wondering if i could just put my sim card in it?

i know gophone and an iphone sounds wierd but itouches are only like 60 bucks cheaper in my area.

If it is an iphone 3g you will have to get a contract with At&t(until 3g unlock is available) if it is an unlocked 1st gen iphone you can use any gsm carrier you want.

so what would my options be? a 1st or 2nd gen thats unlocked? and how would i get it set up?
