Ok, so I'm relatively new to the iPhone realm, and I wanted to ask you guys a couple of questions.

Recently we switched over to AT&T, but with a very basic plan (no internet, txt, anything special outside of making calls) and regular cell phones. I'm curious if there's a way to take that SIM card out, find either a new or old iPhone (don't really care too much about 3G), pop the sim card in and get it to work. Also, would I still be able to access the mobile network for internet and email, or would that only work if there's wifi around?

Thanks.

Yes, as you will then have to connect the iPhone to iTunes and it will upgrade your plan to an iPhone plan. In some cases the SIM would work without connecting to iTunes, however, it is unlikely.

Ahhh, so I can't pay a cheaper plan and still use the iPhone. Ok.

Thanks for the info!
