So I recently changed my iPhone 6+ (from BELL) to an iPhone 7 (from Apple Store).

I inserted the sim card to my iPhone 7 and it works perfectly. I decided to give the phone to my dad. The phone is in perfect condition, it still works, so I factory reset it. My dad told me he didn't want the 6+ because he rather wait for the new iPhone coming out so I said that was fine. I decided to use my iPhone 6+ as my work phone (Wifi) however, it won't let me log into it. It keeps saying I need to insert my SIM card to activate it? However, if I take it out of my iPhone 7, put it back in, will it disrupt anything? Will it transfer my stuff? And if I put it in to activate, and put it back into my iPhone 7, will it ruin anything from my phone (my contact list, music, etc?) I re-call that happening to me once, and my contact list got all ruined and organized.

Any help would be appreciated, not tech-savy and would love some answers.
