I just bought this iPhone off of some guy who said it was broken and he didn't know what was wrong with it really.
The problem is: If you leave the phone to lock, the phone turns off instead of locking like normal. The phone will turn back on after it turns off.
The water sensor has been tripped, so I can't take it to Apple.
Also, the serial number starts with three numbers in a row instead of a number then a letter, then another number.
Any help?

so whenever you try to put the phone to sleep it shuts itself off? or does it shut off after you let it stay idle for a few minutes?

Yeah. It's wierd because some times it will go for a minute without shutting off, and sometimes It will shut off immediatley.

Also the wifi shows it's connected but when i try to load a page, it reverts to edge and loads that way.
