Wasn't sure which forum this belongs in so I'll try here. I've been having this problem since upgrading to iOS 10 and macOS Sierra, it wasn't an issue before:

1. Bluetooth headphones are paired with both Macbook Pro and iPhone 6s.
2. I'm listening with headphones to music playing on the Macbook Pro.
3. I wake up the iPhone by unlocking or even just picking it up (which turns on the screen now).
4. The music immediately pauses until I lock the iPhone again.

It's like the iPhone either interferes with or always takes priority over the bluetooth audio connection when it's awake, even when it's not making a sound. It happens when anything wakes up the phone, including an incoming message. This never happened on the same hardware prior to iOS 10 and Sierra.

Is there a setting that controls this, or something that will stop it from happening? Is it a bug or a feature?

I know I could unpair the iPhone, but I don't want to do that because I often use the headphones to listen to music from the iPhone as well.

13" MBP early 2015, iPhone 6s, all up-to-date versions. Headphones are Sennheiser Momentum v2.
