iPhone Home button "Peeling"

I recently replaced my iPhone 5 from Singtel because of a lock button issue and after a few weeks.. I started to notice "peeling" around the home button. I've never seen this on my other iPhones but I've recently noticed it on my friend's iPhone also. Does anyone know why it is peeling and is it replaceable by Singtel?

You have to go to an Apple store to have it replaced, or send it to Apple.
