iPhone + hotspot sheild vpn + skype?

Hey everyone

Recently they have blocked skype in the UAE but I've got HotSpot Shield on my iPhone 3G which means I can get unrestricted internet and log into skype, but unfortunatley it keeps logging me out of the VPN saying that skype can only run on WiFi and not through VPN.

So is there any way around this?
