Here's one that's stumped employees in two different Apple stores.

My 2008 VW Jetta has an iPod dock in the center console. Not being made for the iPhone specifically, it's not wide enough for the phone to fit. There's a screw on either side of the connector, so I imagine if I unscrewed that plate, the cord would be free and easily connect to my phone.

However, the iPod and iPhone have two different connectors, so would this even work? Or is there some sort of converter/adapter out there?

Ideally, I'd like to get my tunes playing through my car stereo, with my phone mounted with one of these: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/706315/

This would be so much easier with an auxiliary port on the cd player.

The iPhone when plugged into the console can play through the sound system when you change the radio to magazine. To do this you press the CD button until it says no magazine. After you change it, plug in your iPhone (without the case) and press play. Enjoy.
