Hello all,
There's been a lot of speculation as to whether or not the iPhone is coming to Canada by Christmas or not. Today, I received by Players Insider from two Ontario based casinos (Fallsview and Casino Niagara, both backed by the Ontario government) and they are having a promotion where you can get ballot entries by having a certain number of slot points. Lo-and-behold, the first prize they mention is... you guessed it - the iPhone!
You can see the details of the promotion here: http://casinoniagara.com/?Page=Multi Description Promotions. Contest ends Dec. 22 which would imply an iPhone release in Canada by Christmas. If you read the terms and conditions (the PDF) they say that six Apple iPhones are prizes, each with an approximate retail value of $699.97 (the Canadian price, perhaps?).
The question is, did somebody make a mistake? Would a Canadian casino be stupid enough to give away an iPhone that only works in the States? Or could this be proof of a iPhone launch in Canada this Christmas?
Your thoughts are welcome.
Best Regards,
David Gill
