Just a quick question

I have an iPhone with Rogers in Canada, and I'm planning on going on a trip to Mexico next week

I was hoping to bring my iPhone just to listen to music and watch movies, but was wondering what I should do to guarantee I don't get charged for any roaming or data usage.

any suggestions?

Thanks!

i think all you have to do is turn off data roaming.

go to Settings --> General --> Network --> Data Roaming (On/Off)

apart from that, i think you'll be fine.

I was just in Mexico last week - ensure that Data Roaming is turned off as described in the post above. Be aware that text messaging does not require the data network. You can still send and receive those over the regular cell network. Depending on your contract with your carrier, you may get charged international text rates.

If you want to be totally safe (and don't need to receive any calls), just turn on airplane mode while you are there.

I wouldn't even take my iphone to Mexico. Just buy a cheap pay as you go phone to use while you are there(if you must have a phone). And you won't be a target for theft.
