I'm traveling to Austria this weekend and will be bringing my iPhone. Will I be able to call fellow travelers (who may be in a different part of the city) using the standard US 10 digit number stored in my cell phone or do I need to add a country code?

Advice appreciated.

Bill

If they are roaming with their home phones, then yes, that's exactly what you do.

You will get charged Austria-to-USA roaming rate, even if they are sitting at the same table as you in Vienna, and on top of that they will get charged the roaming rate to receive your call.

You will make AT&T shareholders very happy if you do it.
