Hey there I am asking for a bit of advice on behalf of my friend…

Whilst mountain climbing, her iphone fell out of her pocket and down about 50ft to the bottom of a rock face. They couldn't get anywhere near it to retrieve it, however it was insured.

A claim was put in and a new iphone is on its way.

Since then, her friend who is a keen abseiler, managed to retrieve the phone, albeit battered and bruised!

What should she do with the phone now? Its got a slight scratch on the screen and a chunk out of the top corner but apart from that seems to work ok.

It has no sim card in it, as she is using that in an older phone till the new one arrives. Can it be used without a simcard as an ipod touch? Or will it get blocked? Or will o2 require it back

Thanks in advance
