while pre ordering my iPhone 4s at the at and t shop today. The worker advised me not to get the 2 year applecare plan and buy the at&t mobile protection pack because theft and lost was covered.

My question, apple has find my device and the mobile protection pack also has this functionality. So wouldn't the phone have to be turned off to be lost? How in the world would someone fake a claim if the iPhone can be found by satellite. Couldn't i just call at and t or the police to track it?

btw the protection pack is significantly more money than the apple protection care

what if you drop the phone in a deep lake? it's lost. what if it goes through your wood chipper? it's lost.
