I love checking out phones’ internal design, always couldn’t wait until ifixit drop the new teardowns.

Up until iPhone 8 I thought iPhone’s internal design is efficient and elegant with battery on the left, main board on the right, connector and speaker on the bottom. But from iPhone X it started to become weird with an L shaped battery because they still want to keep the left right design.

At the mean time through out the years android phone ended up with a design that’s main board on top, battery in the middle, connector and speakers at the bottom.

Looking at the internals of 12 pro Max I can’t help but think it’s such a mess, the flex cable connectors took a lot of space and they didnt need to be together in one spot and the L shaped battery just can’t be as efficient as a square battery.

Do you guys think the messy design of the internal is the reason why apple can’t fit a bigger battery in the chassis? 12 pro Max and S21 Ultra is roughly the same size, but with the tried and true android top middle bottom design S21 Ultra could fit a 5000 mah battery and 12 pro max is laughable at 3800. Imagine what apple could do if they adapted the same top middle bottom design and bumped battery size up to 5000 and mini up to 3000

Which Android phone? There is no Android standard design. Apple's phones are more power efficient so they don't need batteries as large.

Random guy on internet in "I know more about industrial design than a whole team of engineers and designers who have been making this type of product for over a decade" shocker, while in other news:
iFixit said:
The Pro Max is arguably Apple's finest iPhone-related achievement this year, adding some pretty demanding 5G tech with no obvious compromises to other components.
We're pleased to see this iPhone retain its high-tech L-shaped battery. Here's hoping those make a stronger comeback in the whole iPhone lineup next year—bigger batteries generally need fewer replacements over their lifetimes. (They're also just really cool.)

iPhone 12 ProMax with 3800mah has better battery life than S21 Ultra with a 5000mah battery..
