I remember hearing that Orange in France were limiting the connection speed to iPhone users in fear that their network would overload or something like that.

Well, here in Barcelona I was noticing that my connection speed was slow. My brother had come from London where he lives and also owns a 3G iPhone. He kept telling me that his speed in London was much quicker.

Yesterday I decided to call Movistar (Spains iPhone carrier) and tell them that my connection speed was slow. After going through about 3 or 4 different departments, they finally passed me through to the dedicated iPhone department. I just mentioned that my connection was slow and the CSR immediately said they would activate who knows what and that in a couple of hours I should have a quicker download speed.

So whatdayaknow.... Just checked my speed on testmyiphone.com and my download speed is now close to 2mb (1875kbps). It used to be anywhere between 56kbps to 500kbps.

I'm happy now, hence the post :D
