iPhone/iPad app download

Not sure when this started, but if I download something on my iPad (app) it automatically downloads on my iPhone. Any ideas on how to make that stop?

Sure. Disable the "Automatic Downloads" functions on the "iTunes Store and App Store" section on the Settings app.
You have Music, Apps and Books to choose. I they're active they'll automatically be downloaded on every device.
