Hi guys,

I have one question that I need answering.

My girlfriend wants to buy an iPhone 4S and I want to buy the new iPad next month when it comes out.

Which States of the USA have the cheapest prices in the Apple Stores?

From what I understand, the prices that I see on the Online Apple Store are missing the local state tax (or something like that).

So what I'd like to know, is where in the USA I will be able to find the cheapest prices (lowest taxes).

Would be cool to have the top3 or top5 US States with the lowest taxes.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks a lot!

All apple store will have the same pricing. Each State has a different Sales Tax. You will have to find which state has the cheapest sales tax. The area that I live in Wisconsin is 5.5% sales tax.

Thanks!

For Apple products, should I look at the General Tax or at Total With Max Local Surtax?

(I'm refering myself to the wikipedia table on this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sales_taxes_in_the_United_States#By_jurisdiction )

well the general tax is the states tax, some counties within that state may charge an additional sales tax which is the "tax with max local surtax" number. For example CO has a 2% base sales tax, but depending on which county you are in you may pay 7%, or where I live, 8%.

Understood.

So to be sure, if I look at the total one I won't have any surprises.

As an example, if I buy an iPad in Delaware or New Hampshire it would cost me $499 for the 16GB WiFi model (same price as seen online on the Apple Store).

Correct?
