Hi there, songs on my iPhone sounds distorted, especially on bass. Both for songs copied and ones bought direct from iTunes store. The preview on iTunes store app sounds ok but the downloadad songs are lower quality.

So I thouht it might be my stock headphones but plugging them in on my mac and playing the same songs in iTunes sound fine with no distortion.

I've tired adjusting the volume of the songs and syncing again but still don't do much and my headset volume setting is not even super high. Mostly on halfway.

Any solutions? Thanks for any advice.

I found that turning off sound check and EQ on the phone solved the problem with loss of bass though. I have a pair of sennheiser mm50 ordered so I'll see how those are.

Never use EQ... it ruins the audio. You know... the songs were mixed the way they are for a reason... why would you want to go and alter it with a generic EQ?
