iPhone/iPod touch app transfer question

Just wondering,
If I was to get an iPhone in the future would the apps I already have in iTunes for my iPod touch transfer over to the iPhone? So I could have them on both devices or no?

Yes it will work. I recently purchased an iPod touch and took it back later for an iPhone 3GS. All you have to do is re-download the app/apps buy clicking "buy." A message will pop up stating that you have already purchased this app do you wish to re-download it for free? I think this is based off of your iTunes account so this is why it will let you do it.
