iPhone Ireland

Hi there, i have been promised an iPhone here in Ireland (not available from Apple yet here) its an 8GB, I am meeting the guy to buy it off him, is there anything I need to check on it, beside obviously that it works on the o2 Ireland network? Its unlocked

Any advise is appreciated.
