Hi,

Yesterday one of my friend brought an iPhone 4 locked to some UK carrier.

Before I could sit to unlock & JB the device, someone in the house played around with the pass code & now the iPhone has been disabled.

On switching on I get the message "iPhone is disabled. Connect to iTunes."

Connecting it to iTunes get this message;

"iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked by a password. You must enter the password on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."

I know the pass code, is there any way I can get the pass code login back.

I do not have access to the PC/ iTunes synced last with this device.

Pls advice.

It needs to be plugged into the iTunes that it was last synced with.

Alternatively put it into DFU mode and restore it. I presume it has an iCloud backup so it'll be restorable after the JB

Thanks normanbates for replying.

As stated earlier, I do not have access to the last synced PC/ iTunes.

I guess putting it DFU mode & restoring it, will update 5.0.1; which will cause issues for unlocking the phone.

Sorry didn't see that bit the first time.

For the jailbreak see her:
Code:

Thanks for the link, will go through.

But what about the unlocking part for iPhone 4 on 5.0.1?

Nope, doing regular restore to 5.01 will update your baseband to 4.11.8 which is unlockable.

First connect phone and start TinyUmbrella, it will give you the current BaseBand.

You might be able to unlock with ultrasn0w if your baseband is 1.59.0.
If BB is higher but below 4.11.08 you can unlock with gevey sim and furious mod.

what you have to do is make custom firmware that will preserve your baseband, redns0w can do that.

After that, put the phone in DFU and ALT-restore in itunes wih the custom baseband.

After that jailbreak with redsn0w.

Yes, what trijet said.
You gotta make a custom 5.0.1 ipsw with redsnow in order to maintain your old baseband. Then put the iphone in pwned DFU with redsnow and restore to that custom 5.0.1 no_bb ipsw.
Hopefully it wasnt on stock 5.0 or 5.0.1 before that or you wont be able to unlock it with anything available at the moment.

Exactly. Thanks TriJetHero for confirming.

TinyUmbrella is showing no info as the device is disabled.
