Iphone is really a joke!!!!!!

I made a really big decision today - to erase all content and settings

So, i pressed the button, my screen turned into a rotating sign
i waited 4 hours ,missed hundreds of calls from my family my friend, etc.
i went to my friend's place for dinner, when i came back home, another 5 hours has gone by
i looked at my phone, that sign was still spinning,
so i forced it to reboot by pressing power and home together.

what i saw after 9 hours waiting was nothing changed, not even a photo was deleted

WTF? APPLE? what the ***** does this option actually do?
 
from my phone, there is a reset option at the bottom of general settings

yeh, I'm about to do that, just don't understand why there is a useless option on iPhone
after 9 hours waiting , at least some of the contents should have been deleted...
 
I've done the erase all contents and settings from within the iPhone every time I go sell them without a hitch, so my guess is yours simply went into a loop or got stuck. Next time don't waste more than 20 minutes and manually reboot.

Just because it didn't work in your specific case doesn't make it a useless option :rolleyes:

yes, i was hesitant whether keep waiting after the first hour, so i looked up on apple's website, i saw an answer says, it might take up to a few hours... that's why i wasted hours

All that happened is your phone just had a freak glitch. The erase all settings and content doesn't go into effect until after the phone powers down. Your phone got stuck in the powering down portion of the erase all settings and content. But I have a hard time believing it actually ran for 9 hours considering you are probably over exaggerating about missing hundreds of call in 4 hours.

hundreds of missed calls was exaggerated, but true on 9 hours, i plunged it in power socket then played a few rounds of league of legends and saw it still resetting itself before i went out
i didn't know it goes into effect until after phone powers down and i did look up on apple Q&A on its official website found the answer that erase might take a few hours depending on the model, so i thought it was normal

I've erased my iPhone 4 a few times and it took all of s few minutes. Erased my old iPhone 5s and that took the same few minutes. Sounds like what others said a freak glitch.
 
Probably because of iOS 7.0, it's can be pretty glitchy. You should have at least 7.1. It's much more stable.
