I recently bought an iPhone on ebay... (the original iPhone) In complete working condition. When I got it, It said insert sim.... so I did I had an AT&T Sim I was going to use with it. Well it stopped saying insert sim, and now just says "slide for emergency" at the bottom, and has a depiction of a USB cable with an arrow into the itunes Icon... so should I connect it to the computer.. what do I do?

Connect it to your computer and activate..it won't renew your AT&T contract, it'll just change it so you will have data on your plan
