iPhone / iTunes auto syncing - don't want it to

Hi all,

My partner has an iPhone 4S running iOS 7. Every time it's connected to the computer iTunes wants to sync all the music on the computer to the phone despite there not being enough space.
We have already ensured that the option in iTunes of 'Manually manage music' is selected, however it still insists on trying to move everything across.

Anyone any suggestions please?

'Manually manage music

That option only means how it's organized on your HD.

The option you want is under preferences -> device -> Prevent Automatic Sync.
