iPhone / iTunes Sync Photos

This is probably a really stupid question, but here goes:

How do I sync photos between my iPhone and iTunes? The setting on my iTunes currently says "sync photos from iPhoto" (include all photos). But, in reality, what this does is copies photos FROM iPhoto TO my iPhone but not the other way around. Photos from my iPhone don't get copied onto my computer unless I manually go into iPhoto and do an import.

1. Is there any way for iTunes to automatically import photos from my iPhone?
2. Is there any way for iTunes to automatically delete the photos on my iPhone after importing?
