I tried to reset my iphone 3gs back to its original settings so that I can sell it. I went to setting - general - reset - erase all content and settings. Now my iphone shows an apple icon on a black background. I have read other threads that explain how to get into recovery mode and it isn't working.

My iphone was jailbroken using a program called redsnow.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem and restore my iphone?

Thanks so much.

Because your phone was jailbroken, when you hit that button, your phone will hang. If you have SHSH blobs save, then you can restore your phone to one of the firmware you have blobs for. Otherwise, the only way you can do right now is to restore to the latest firmware.

To restore to the latest firmware, hook you your phone to your PC/Mac, put it into DFU mode and restore it with Itunes.
