Iphone jammed

Hi,
Today I couldn´t call from my Iphone. It read that it didn´t have network. I started to update the phone and for 10 hours it has read confirming update but nothing happens. Cant´t turn it of or do anything else. What should I do?

Have you tried restarting it (holding the lock/sleep button and the home button or the volume down button, depending on your phone, for at least about 10 or 20 seconds)?
