Hi, so I bought iphone 6s and had it unlocked yesterday (paid full price from Best Buy). I turned off the cellular in setting. I didn't open the sim tray, but I'd assume that there is a AT&T sim card in it.

But the phone keeps waking on from sleep periodically with something about sim card not detected, presumably searching for a working sim card. It does this (message pop-up) periodically while I am using the phone as well.

Is there any way to stop this? I don't know why it does this even after I turned off the cellular in setting. I don't plan to sign up with any carrier until late November in U.S, but use it with a local sim card during my upcoming overseas trip later in a couple of weeks. If there is no way to disable this, I guess that means those who uses iphone temporarily as a ipod will have to put up with it?
