iPhone keyboard freezing up during SMS

When I am texting, my iPhone keyboard would freeze up for some odd reason. This does not happen in any other application, only the SMS Text Messaging application. Usually it could be remedied by restarting the phone, or exiting out of the SMS app by hitting the home button, then reopening the app. I just updated the firmware to 2.0.2. BTW, its a first generation 8GB iPhone.

Yeah, I think that there is a memory leak issue with this version of firmware. I really hope that they fix these issues in 2.1!

It's a widely reported issue, been there since 2.0.

When this happens, fully exit out of the SMS app. To do this go into SMS, then press and hold the home button for about 7 seconds, until SMS.app goes away. Then reopen and all problems should be solved (for a while.)

I've actually noticed an increase in the frequency of this since upgrading to 2.0.2
