This texting lag is getting really annoying. Anyone know if performing the hard reset and then updating rectifies the problem? I know that I can just quit the application and reopen it, but I would like the problem to be just fixed.

Also, I noticed some lag when scrolling through contacts, its not a big deal but I was wondering if this is new with 2.0, or was it also present in the first generation iphone.

Thanks for any help.

I really dont understand why people get so upset about posting topics that have already been posted. Its really not a big deal. I did search, I read two threads, and I didnt find a solution. Its far more efficient to do it this way.

Oh I must have missed Merlin Mann's post on 43folders about the efficiency of posting annoying redundant threads.

Your annoying and redundant. Why sifting through all those posts when I cant just post one and wait for helpful and kind people unlike you to respond.

Annoying and redundant is exactly how I would describe having to sift through all the posts asking the same 10 questions. It's not your personal help desk. By repeatedly asking the same questions, these posts push other people's unique questions off the front page, buried under FAQ posts, where they wallow with no answers.

on my iphone 3g when texting is lagging really bad, i go back to the home screen then i go back to sms and there is no more lag on the conversation. its really weird, but it works.

Yes, Join The Club! Crashing, Lag, and all around craziness. My iPhone today decided it did not like certain Apps and will not under any circumstances display them on the home screen. Also iTunes decides that for the past few days that EVERY SINGLE App (About 50) that I have downloaded needs an update and I have to download every single one all over again even though in iTunes it shows all Apps with the current software versions. My list is growing at an accelerating pace...

Oh, wait did I just post this in a thread above???

Wasteland.

there is a 'update all apps' button.

not very hard to update 50 apps. just click it and set the phone down for a few minutes.

Yes, 2.0 officially sucks It's laggy, crashy, missing features, and sucks battery like crazy. Necessary to get the App Store rolling though.

Why must everyone complain? Let's look at the positive sides of 2.0! I saw a $1 white picture that they called a "Flashlight" in the App Store!

seriously, I don't think that it's a big deal to periodically repost old topics. I'm sure most topics have been discussed at one time or another. Lighten up all, this is supposed to be a friendly forum among apple enthusiats. No one is the policeman of these threads to jump on someone for inquiring about a legitimate issue.

I can't agree more.

Because it really is simple to do and if you did a search for lag and didn't see the results with the NUMEROUS threads about it, you must be blind

I just did exactly what you told me to do. Yes, there is a lot of topics. Are any of them relevant to the topic posted? No.

Goodness, type in "iPhone lag" and I get
