Are Chinese manufactures going to sell these for 1 dollar like we see with the old 30pin?I can't see buying 4cables for 20bucks a piece.

Eventually, yes there will be some 3rd party cables. I snagged 2 from Apple (3 total) to get me car charging and a second wall charge. What's weird is that Apple says they won't ship until October.

third party cables doubtful

I read in some recent articles that third party cables will be nearly impossible to make. They would have to reverse engineer some authentication chip that is in each cable/adapter. Without the chip the iOS device won't even charge! Sad but true. We are stuck buying Apple's $19/$29/$39 products, and forget about buying $3 cables from China on ebay :(

Don't believe everything you read

The able is adaptive using custom chips and a patented technology. The only third party cables are likely to be from licensed suppliers.
