Hello,

My iPhone 4's lock/sleep/power button just broke. Is there any app that I can use to put the device to sleep until I can get to the Apple Store sometime next week?

Just found out about assistive touch! Disregard this post... How simple is the fix and will Apple fix it? I was planning on selling the devise next month....

Free Workaround

I recently had the same issue but as my iPhone is out of warranty Apple wanted a fair wedge to replace the button. This is what I did:

ON your phone go to: Settings > General > Accessibility. Turn on "AssistiveTouch". This should then make a small white circle appear on your screen which can be moved to a convenient location. When you wish to lock your phone, click on this circle, select "Device" and then touch "Lock Screen".

Hope this helps.
