Iphone Lockcode bypass

hey guys whats going on? I'm new to the forums. I don't have the iphone 4 yet, but I was looking on craiglist and this guy is selling one for $200. Its very cheap. He said he found it in a bar and it had a lock code on it. It sounds like he stole it. Its a verizon iphone 4. Its a great deal and I'm sure I could get it for $150. I don't plan on using it on Verizon, I plan on flashing it to cricket. Is there a way to bypass the passcode lock? I know about the hack to see contacts and stuff. I have old iphone 3g still in my itunes from when I had one of those. Can i use that to restore phone? or is there a new way to bypass it. Let me know so I know whether or not to waste my money on this phone. Thanks

You can't bypass it, you have to plug it to iTunes and restore it.

Simple. Don't buy goods that you suspect are stolen no matter how tempted you are.

Thanks alot guys. I think I will spend the extra $50 and get one that is unlocked and not stolen. I appreciate the feedback
