I have recently bought a Macbook Pro and an iPhone 4. I was just wondering if anything different happens when the iPhone is paired with the Mac rather than a PC? Is anything made easier?

No difference. Aside from the different keystrokes and where things are saved.
Unless you want to jailbreak then Mac versions come out first than Windows versions sometime after.

I love that iPhoto automatically opens up and imports my pictures and HD videos that I've shot with my iPhone.

I think everything is more streamlined on a mac. Anyhow, enjoy them both, they are great products. I gave up PC a year ago for my MBP and I couldn't be happier.

You can do more things like use iPhoto to import the videos or sync the contact list with your address book.
