I was watching the first iPhone introduction keynote that Steve did and he showed a mail layout on the phone where it would list 2-3 of the messages, and then show the body of the message selected below. I really like that idea of a layout and I wish we had the option to do it now. I'm not sure why they removed the feature, or at least the option. I've attached a screen capture of the video.

I'm hoping they bring the option back. I don't have the 3.0 Beta, is this possible in it?

I remember him talking about split view in the original iPhone introduction, and I thought I remembered something about it finally getting here in 3.0. I could be wrong though...
 
I actually agree with Apple's decision to remove the feature - it's too pokey and cramped in the ize of the screen to have split view!

thats because Jobs was using 4.0 beta in that keynote ;) he's probably up to OS 6.0 just waiting and waiting every year to release them haha

Makes me claustrophobic just looking at it.
