iPhone mail: live turned into exchange?

I have a windows live email account that I synced to my iPhone. When I added it to my iPhone's email list, I registered it as a hotmail account, assuming they are the same. I just noticed now, that its "type" of email is now "exchange" and not hotmail. Is this normal?

Yes, it's an Exchange account. That has been quite a while, maybe a year or two.
