Not sure if this has already been asked, but is there a way to find out when our iPhone was made? I know there was a way to find out in the past but I don’t remember how, or the website.
This is one of the more well-used websites: http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.htmlNot sure if this has already been asked, but is there a way to find out when our iPhone was made? I know there was a way to find out in the past but I don’t remember how, or the website.
Wow, that's disappointing if true. I've a few older Apple products that are still sealed and was able to decode the serial number to find out exactly when they were made. The serial number used to be set up in a standard format, making it simple to determine where and when an Apple product was manufactured.
But, Apple has transitioned to a "randomized" serial number, which no longer provided that information, at least in the serial number.

Apple Begins Transition to Randomized Serial Numbers With Purple iPhone 12
MacRumors previously reported about Apple's plan to switch to randomized serial numbers for future products starting in early 2021, and this...www.macrumors.com
So, the websites that can decode the serial number, will not work with Apple's newest products.
Apple has changed the serial number system and you can no longer decipher the serial number of when it was made. New Serial number are 10 characters and all random instead of the standard 12 characters. Not sure if this has already been asked, but is there a way to find out when our iPhone was made? Awww darn.. it was fun finding out when the phone was madeApple has changed the serial number system and you can no longer decipher the serial number of when it was made. New Serial number are 10 characters and all random instead of the standard 12 characters.
I know right? It would've been nice but Apple likes to keep a lot of things secret. lolAwww darn.. it was fun finding out when the phone was made
Just an FYI.
You can still connect your iPhone 13 to Coconut Battery and it sill reads the numbers. Only info you'd get is when the battery was made.
I just received my iPhone 13 Pro max that was shipped to me and the battery was manufactured on the week of 8/30/21. So if that of any indication, my phone was likely made in September.View attachment 1845245
But keep in mind that it's really hard to tell eventually because even if you were to get one in November, you still could have a battery that is installed that was manufactured in August.
FYI** I just did a chat with Apple and got my manufacture date, but they did not have any other data like manufacture location(factory, line etc.). I did email back the coconutBattery dev to see if that can help. Awaiting response. So, if you really absolutely want to know your actual manufacture date, you can chat with Apple Support and get it...Yes, I've just now discovered this myself.. I've had coconutbattery for years and never had an issue. I've had my 6S+ for 6 years and a 5 before that and never had an issue. I just got my my 13 Pro Max 1TB(after waiting a month for delivery) and coconutbattery would not display the manufacture date. There was an app update available so I did that, same. I thought maybe the app upgrade would make it work so I spent the 10$ and unlocked it. Same. Then I went looking and discovered this thread.. Bummer. I did email the dev but if this is a new randomized apple thing, I guess the dev won't be able to do much about that.. At least my battery talks... 10/4/
There are other ways to do it and not have to contact Apple. Simply when you buy a new phone. Right out of the box dont connect your phone to your conputer. Just power it on and go through the set up.FYI** I just did a chat with Apple and got my manufacture date, but they did not have any other data like manufacture location(factory, line etc.). Ok, that's interesting.. Never heard of 3utools, and I'm on Mac so... I'm sure Apple just has a new coding scheme on the sn.. otherwise how would they know if there was some defect that "affects a small amount of users"... like from a certain plant/line/date range.. someone on the outside just needs to figure it out.. would be nice if coconutBattery dev could figure it out. Oh well..There are other ways to do it and not have to contact Apple. Simply when you buy a new phone. Right out of the box dont connect your phone to your conputer. Once in home screen, go to settings then privacy then analytic data. You should fine d some earlier dates which gives you the idea of when it would be made. Like mines made in November.
Apparently 3utools on PC can detect the build date for the device.
