I just bought www.iphone.me :D

Godaddy unveiled the .me domains today an hour ago, and i finally got through, and i was the lucky one to get it!

Now im going to hold it hostage from Apple

Im fairly confident that if apple really wanted that website address, they could go to court and get it from you for free since they have the trademark on the name "iPhone"...but if you want to use it as an actual website for yourself, i dont see a problem with it until apple wants it.

They still have to pay me for domain registration.

Anyone think the OP needs to get out more? :p
no offence intended, i knew of a case where someone registered the McDonalds trade mark in foreign countries and made loadsss of money from it.

I think you should be saving up for those legal fees, sure to be coming should you try to do anything with that domain.

i think ill try that one (f##k.me)

i got nick.me to. im just going to sell them on ebay to make a quick buck more than likely.

oh, FYI Apple had a pre registration time to buy iPhone.me so hopefully since they didnt buy they dont care if it just sits there with a cool home page or i sell it.

I think the only way you're gonna make money off the site is if you sell it to another sucker who thinks they're gonna profit from it as well.. :D

The whois says it's owned by Apple and they've had the name for a week now, which means it was impossible for you to buy today. So either you're not telling the truth, or the whois isn't telling the truth ;)

Yeah I think something was wrong with GoDaddy today. I "bought" four .me sites and about an hour later received four emails from GoDaddy saying that they had already been registered to someone else (even tho when I "bought" them, GoDaddy showed them as available). Go figure. Daddy.

Yeah i actually DIDN'T get it. According to GoDaddy Apple didn't register it before today, or it just wasnt made public, but they got it.

I talked to customer service and they said it was hell today. They said for every domain that had this type of conflict they have to go back and see who was first and then refund everyone.
