I am a experienced iPhone repairer. I have an iPhone 3g on my bench. It was brought to me because the user had the issue that he could not be heard by those he spoke to in either mode whether he was speaking right into the phone or activating the speakerphone.

I put a replacement speaker module into his phone and put his into another phone.

The new speaker module did not repair the issue. You cannot be heard when speaking to someone on the phone.. but when you activate the voice recorder and speak very close into the microphone, sound gets picked up but is VERY fuzzy and distorted.

The module that I took out the phone with the issue works PERFECTLY in another phone.

I've done a full restore on the phone...

Same issue.

Any ideas??

Logic Board?

Hello Twizotte,

I have EXACTLY the same problem. Did you find the problem and its solution?

I've tried to change dock connector combo as well... Wondering if it can be either a baseband issue (it is on 5.13) or a battery problem? (bad battery can give weird stuff).

Thank you for your feedback.
