Don't give people ideas. Now they're gonna start looking at their phone under a microscope, looking for reasons to take it back.

Look at your skin under a microscope and it doesn't look good either...

I can see a Genius Bar situation now....

"Hi. My iPhone has millions of microscopic cracks and I was hoping to get it replaced. I brought my microscope if you want to take a look. Can I use your power outlet?"

Could you take a normal pic of your iPhone for comparison? With the microscope, the iPhone looks like its beat to crap. Iam sure that isnt the case but I would like to see a side by side comparision.

Except the OP specifically stated they did not find any cracks. Still, just from a curiosity standpoint, I would be curious to know how many, if any, iPhone 3Gs out there have microcracking that isn't visible to the user. The microcracks, if they're there, will probably lead to stress failures within the lifetime of the phone, but it would answer the question of whether some of the phones just have quality control issues with their plastic, or if they're all in the process of breaking and it's just a matter of time.
