I was excited to hear about the new iPhone mirror feature with the latest Mac OS and iPhone OS. One major problem, however. The mirror feature does not allow you to make calls from your MacBook!

Of all the things I would want to use the feature for making calls with a tethered iPhone from my Mac computer was #1. It does not work, however. I get a message stating "Calls not available" when I try and place a call.

What makes it even worse is that my buddy that uses a Windows PC is able to make calls on his iPhone from his laptop. How could this feature possibly not be supported on Mac computers?

I don't understand the need for this. Phone calls on other devices has been available for a while. There is no need for mirroring.

Right. This has been available since 2014 (iOS 8 / Yosemite). Apple probably didn't want to spend the time and effort to make this work through iPhone Mirroring since it was already supported functionality.

Okay, so how do I make calls using my Macbook through my iPhone? I know I can use Facetime but that only works with other Apple devices and insists on video. I want to be able to make audio only calls to anyone in my contact list (even android users). Is there a way to do this?

Never Mind: I just found the feature in the Contacts App. Didn't know that was a feature. I'm glad it's working but I still see no reason that iPhone mirroring does not allow it.
