I have an 2019 27" Intel iMac and noticed the iPhone morning icon. I don't have a new enough iPhone to use it, but curious if this is normal as everything I read said that a 2019 iMac won't support iPhone mirroring?

I did a little more digging, guess apple messed up and lets Sequoia install the iPhone mirroring app on unsupported iMacs. Its not really like them to do that, but that seems to be what happened.

Any updates on this? I tried it on macOS 15.0 on my 2019 4k and it just would not connect.

Then when macOS 15.0.1 came out I get a pop up that says that I need the Apple Silicon or a T2 chip.

My iMac doesn't have either.

Now, I cannot change the "require password..." It is grayed out. Now I have to log in all the time, which I didn't have to do before.

Any fixes for this?

Not following… where is this “require password” setting you are referring to? Screenshot might help.

iPhone Mirroring does not work on my 2019 Intel iMac. I didn't expect it to, but like someone said, why did Apple put the application on when it will not work? More importantly, I'd like to know how to remove it.

Apple does not have separate installs for Intel and Mx. The mirroring app is in the SSV so it cannot be removed. It can be removed from the Dock and moved to an "ignore" page in the Launchpad.

Actually it is. Usually every Mac gets the same basic macOS install including every app. Really the only thing apple restricts is region locked apps like the News.app. Apple Silicon Macs even feature the Boot Camp Assistant.app.

There is no settings menu when that "iPhone mirroring not supported."

Still can change the lock screen setting on 15.1.
