So have we come to the conclusion that there is no way at this point to get it working? I have tried every thing listed here and none seem to work. All the Messages fail when going out. (I am on a family ulimited messaging account as well)

What part of "later this summer" do people not understand.....

ummmm....we dont want to wait till this summer..we have waited long enough for such a simple feature. ATT has had PLENTY of time to get ready for this. They have no excuse.

jesus you will have plenty of time to engage in sexting.

Yeah, you're right. No one else has thought of this or posted it in the forum before. You're the very first!

use search functions on the site, people got it working using that feature :p

i dont think anyone has......i have read the entire thread about the instructions for getting it to work and while it may have worked originally, they no longer work. Nobody has a way that 100% works. I have tried updating the carrier settings (still fails) and have also tried the carrier settings with taking out the sim card and putting it in another, and then putting it back scenario and it does not work either. If you see a way on here that works, then link it.

Well if you've tried everything else and nothing works.....maybe that's because, well none of it works. Unless you can convince AT&T to activate your MMS tomorrow and no one else's, then you're going to have to wait just like the rest of us. Yes, it is VERY rediculous that AT&T isn't ready for MMS when it's been known for MONTHS that we were finally getting it on the iPhone.....just proves once again that AT&T sucks a big one and if we want to play with our iPhones, we have to suck it up and deal with it.

FWIW, I doubt Verizon would have screwed it up THIS bad if they had made the smart business decision in the beginning to be the carrier for the iPhone. JMO.

Even if I got it working, who would I send one to? Everyone I know has an iPhone. :p I guess I could send it to that dude's mom since she said MMS will be working this weekend.

This is what upsets me. AT&T has had along time, ever since Apple first started developing the 3.0 software, to make sure things were ready to go. I don't get why allowing customers (who otherwise would have had MMS capable phones anyway) to use MMS is such a big deal.

Because they are probably using some Windoze system that will require 4,500 geeks sitting in India to manipulate code all summer long in the Mumbai heat so we can send messages. Whoever heard of such a thing? Having to enable MMS for each individual account? How absurd.

If Apple was in charge it would look like this:

IMHO this is the main issue I have with AT&T. If I could MMS from my RAZR for years what's the big deal now!!

not to mention we have been paying for mms this whole time

att should really refund us as they have been denying use services that we are paying for

i am on a family plan with a family unlimited messaging add-on. I have been paying for SMS and MMS service, however my phone (manufactured by Apple, not AT&T) was incapable of sending MMS.

I don't see why this means AT&T should refund me anything, if I'm paying for a service I can't use because of the cell phone I CHOOSE to use is incapable, whose fault is that?

To take this further, i installed 3.0 and had 0 problems with MMS, it just worked.

I think I've pissed off AT&T to the point where they have flagged my account with a note stating "NO MMS FOR THIS ANNOYING A*****E, EVER!".

I think for a lot of us its more of a "my phone has the ability to perform this function, but it isn't functional" type of thing. I might never use this feature, but having it there in its FULLY functional form makes me feel a lot better about paying a premium for my iPhone.
